Gareth Southgate is happy with his current Middlesbrough Football Club squad

Well, summer is here and it is time to pick players for the English football clubs. Middlesbrough Football Club manager, Gareth Southgate, has just signed two new players: Didier Digard and Marvin Emnes. He is in no hurry to sign other players.

Some of the major players like George Boateng, Lee Cattermole, Lee Dong-Gook, Gaizka Mendieta, Fabio Rochemback and Mark Schwarzer have all left the club which has put it into difficulty but Gareth Southgate is not worried about losing players. Football 365.com reports:

Southgate says he would like to add more competition for places in his squad, but is happy to go into the season with what he has at his disposal.

"There are certain areas on the field we would like a bit more competition, so it is possible we might do something like that (on the transfer front)," Southgate told Sky Sports News.

Southgate said that he is happy with his current players and if his club is going into the season, then there is a good reason. Most of the players of the Middlesbrough Football Club are young which gives them lots of energy and enthusiasm and their attitudes are very positive.

Will Samir Nasri live up to Arsenal's Number 8 expectations?

Samir Nasri, the twenty one year old French footballer, is going to wear the legendary number 8 jersey of Arsenal and this has created another controversy among fans. The number 8 jersey in Aresnal, one of the top English football clubs, has been wore by the club's top scorers like Ian Wright, Freddie Ljungberg, Alan Ball, George Graham, Charlie George. When a player becomes famous wearing a number, it becomes special among fans and the one who wears that same number is also expected to perform well. Though talented Samir Nasri is very young and does not come with much experience. Already, Arsenal is saying that Nasri is going to be the next Zinedine Zidane. This is a great responsibility and with great responsibility comes great stress. Hope Samir Nasri can handle it and live up to the expectation.

Blackburn Rovers fans are not happy with the sign up of Paul Robinson

Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Paul Robinson signed a five year contract with Blackburn Rovers for £3.5million. The goal keeper had a tough time last season as he lost his place in Spur’s starting line-up and lost his position as England’s top goal keeper. Last month, Juande Ramos, Tottenham Spur’s boss hired Brazillian goal keeper Heurelho Gomes from Dutch club PSV Eindhoven. After becoming the manager of Blackburn Rovers, Paul Robinson is Paul Ince’s first sign up but some Rovers fan feels that this sign-up is controversial. Compared to Paul Robinson, American veteran goalkeeper Brad Friedel was doing far better. He gave better performance last season.
